ACT Meeting for Parents and Students with Learning Disabilities

There is a meeting on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the MS/HS Library with the Special Services and School Counseling Departments to discuss the ACT test, preparation and the college application process.


College Night for Juniors and Parents/Guardians - Mandatory Meeting

There is a mandatory meeting for Juniors and Parents/Guardians on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of the MS/HS.  Admissions counselors from Binghamton University, Dominican College, Lehman College, Miami University, University of Rochester and Sarah Lawrence College will share their insights into the college search and application process.  The panel will discuss elements of the process including the essay, extracurricular activities, interviews, grades, cumulative GPA's, strength of academic program, testing, recommendations and the roles they play when colleges review your applications.

Presentation of the College Process in Spanish

On Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the MS/HS Library, Mr. Richard Alvarez, Vice President of Enrollment at Queens College (CUNY), will conduct a presentation of the college application process in Spanish.  Parents and Guardians of students in Grades 8-11 are invited to attend this presentation.

Scholarships

The Guidance Department receives many scholarships for Rye Neck seniors.  They are posted on the Scholarship Bulletin board outside the Counseling Department office.  We continually add to the list so check back often for new ones.  Please see Mrs. Kane in the Counseling Department for applications or if you have any questions.  Click HERE to view the current scholarships.

University/College Representative Visits to Rye Neck High School

Approximately 95 Directors of Admissions and Assistant Admissions Deans are coming to the Counseling and Guidance Department.  College representatives provide information and an important opportunity for students to ask questions and speak with the people who may read their applications.
